A woman who was about to give birth tried her best not to burst into laughter when she pranked her husband, who had just arrived at her hospital bedside, into thinking that their baby had already been born.
Mariah Miller, 29, sought help from a nurse at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. The nurse brought her a baby doll that she wrapped in a blanket.
Then, when Mariah’s husband, Alex, 33, arrived, he was excitably told, “Your baby’s here.”
“You’re kidding,” said Alex, only for Mariah to reassure him, “She came so fast.”

There were expletives, laughs, and then, as her husband started to believe her, Mariah said, “I couldn’t hold her in. I’m so sorry.”
The hilarious interaction was captured on video by Mariah, who eventually cracked and told Alex the truth.
Mariah shared the clip on her TikTok page, where it soon went viral and was viewed more than five million times.
The couple previously experienced trauma last year when their son, Ozzie, was stillborn at 35 weeks.
For this, the birth of their rainbow baby, a daughter named Belle, the couple said they wanted to be “full of peace and fun.”
Speaking of the prank, Mariah added: “I asked my nurse if she had a baby doll and would be open to pranking Alex with me, and she, of course, said yes.

“I was shocked he fell for it.
“As you can see in the video, I just thought it was hilarious.
“I’m bummed you can’t see his face, but he was genuinely so confused and out of it.
“I hope people who watch the video realize it’s ok and healthy to have fun and joke around with your spouse and that birth can be peaceful and fun.”
