There, Hunter leaned over and said, “Hey, Mad, we’re not going to cry today,” adding, “It’s going to be a good day.”

He then reaffirmed the message: “Don’t cry today. This is going to be a good day, Maddie.”

Kristy has been working on a new business and was on a work call when Hunter informed her that Madison had started crying.

The four-year-old assured his mom, “I’ll go get her, Mama. I’m going to tell her it’ll be okay.”

“I love how he told her ‘We’re not going to cry,’ like this was going to be a team effort and they were in it together.

“They can still fight like siblings do, or struggle to share sometimes, but Madison absolutely adores her big brother, and Hunter is so protective of her.

“They can play together for hours and make each other laugh hard – it’s special to see how he comforts her and makes me feel like I’ve taught him well in how I comfort him.”
