A teen headed out of school and jumped straight into the arms of her big sister who had been away for a year with the United States Navy.
When Jamie Goens, 15, from Bakersfield, California, saw older sister, Jenny, 19, her feet left the ground as she clung to her sibling for a long-awaited hug.
Jenny, a machine accountant seaman with the Navy, had been based in Maryland for more than a year, thousands of miles away from her family.

The separation was tough on the sisters, Jenny said, but when she knew she would be coming home for Christmas leave in 2022, she decided to work on a surprise.
She arrived in Bakersfield a few days before Christmas and headed straight to her sister’s school before waiting for her to head outside.
Jenny said: “She was really surprised – it was heartfelt and made me miss home even more than I already had.
“I felt excited and really happy to see her after a whole year.
“My sister ran straight to me, and she was crying in my arms once she jumped on me.”
