A boyfriend captured a unique view of his surprise proposal by wearing a pair of Meta glasses to record his girlfriend’s tearful reaction.
Teray “Ray” Savage, 34, from Elizabeth, New Jersey, loves capturing special moments on video with his now-fiancée, Aiyana Cook, 30, so much so that they see that as part of their couple identity.
Whether it be vacations or birthdays, the pair always takes photos and videos, so when it comes to popping the question, Ray wants to record the moment in the most raw and authentic way possible.
He decided to purchase a pair of Meta glasses, as he felt this was the only way to capture true point-of-view footage without having a bulky or intrusive camera in the way.

On Ray’s birthday, he and Aiyana were set to head out for dinner, only for Ray to ask if they could stop by a friend’s event first.
Ray has a large number of friends, Aiyana said, so she didn’t suspect anything, but as she walked into the event space, she realized something was up but hadn’t noticed he was wearing Meta glasses.
It was only when Aiyana saw the light on the glasses everything clicked, and then Ray led her through a sea of friends and family, before getting down on one knee to ask the big question.
Through the recording captured by the glasses, Ray was able to showcase Aiyana’s range of emotions, through shock, happiness, and tears of joy.

Aiyana said: “We are lovers of all things tech and love taking lots of videos to relive special moments.
“It’s funny because I didn’t know they were Meta glasses and was at first upset he had the glasses on.
“Once I saw the light it quickly clicked this was for me and not someone else, and I immediately melted when I realized he went so far as to keep our video tradition up by investing in the glasses.
“The proposal was a complete surprise to me.

“Ray said he wanted to record my raw reaction without having a camera in my face and take away from the moment.
“That’s when he decided to purchase the Meta glasses for the proposal, since this was the only way he could get the footage without a bulky or obvious camera.
“Everyone thought the glasses were a genius idea.
“I hope others take away from the bigger picture that this was a well-thought-out, super-intentional proposal and that genuine love is very much so still a thing.”
