A dad couldn’t control his excitement as his daughter surprised him by coming home for the first time in over a year and a half.
Shanna Yeh had been away from home as a full-time student at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California.
She had been in LA since May 2020 due to college and attending a summer internship.
But recently, Shanna started to feel homesick so when she found out she had a few days off school she took this as the perfect opportunity to come home and surprise her dad, Joseph.
The last-minute plan was unfortunately interrupted as her flight from LA to home in Maryland was delayed so she didn’t arrive until 2:00am.
To get the plan back on track she got herself tested for Covid-19 first thing in the morning and organized for her brother to drive her to the surprise.
When Shanna finally got to her family home on September 17th, she quietly crept through the house to her dad’s office.
Joseph was at his desk when Shanna walked into the room but as soon as he realized it was her, he waved his arms in the air in disbelief.
He then began to get emotional as he was so shocked to finally be reunited with his daughter.
After the surprise, the family ordered food from their favorite local Chinese restaurant.
Shanna said: “I have never surprised my dad before so I was a little nervous to see how he would react, but I knew that it would only be positive!”
