A woman flipped her surprise 30th birthday party completely on its head when she told gathered family members that she and her fiancé were getting married right there and then in their living room.
After meeting her now-husband, Carlos Perez, 39, in 2021, Jayenise “Jay” Perez, 30, from Deer Park, Texas, said she immediately knew he was the one.
The couple was so well-suited that Jay said that Carlos was on the same wavelength in wanting a small and intimate wedding with just their close family there to witness.

Jay and Carlos had settled on a wedding that wouldn’t break the bank, so they needed an excuse to get everyone together.
Jay thought that her “surprise” 30th birthday would be the perfect cover, and as she didn’t want anyone to know about her marriage plans, she liaised with her sister-in-law, Tina, who arranged it all.
On February 6, the couple’s friends and family gathered in their Texas home for what they thought would be a celebration of just Jay.
But then, in footage captured on the couple’s security camera, Jay had everyone gather as she broke the news that she and Carlos were about to get married – their own surprise.
After a series of stunned reactions from those in attendance, the couple walked down an aisle created in their home before saying their vows in front of everyone in their living room.
Tina captured additional moments from the beautiful surprise on video, which Jay later shared on her social media.
She said: “We both wanted something small and intimate having our close family there to witness.
“We wanted something that wasn’t going to break the bank and when we figured it out, we knew it was going to be the perfect plan.

“Let me say this though: it wasn’t easy trying to hide the fact I knew it was a surprise party, and we were surprising them with a wedding.
“This was by far the best thing I could’ve ever done as far as getting married.
“It was pure shock and happiness, knowing how surprised everyone was & who was all there to support and witness such great love.
“My message to others who are indecisive about having or not having a wedding is, Do this for you.

“Don’t worry about who’s going to be there and not be there; don’t stress about a day to only enjoy it for a few hours when you can have something very small and intimate and still have those special memories with the ones closest to you.
“I promise, no matter how you choose, it’s still going to be the best day.
“But don’t think about how others are going to feel when it should be about you and your spouse.”
