A wholesome dad got a sweet surprise when he thought he was checking out a crib and nursery his daughter had built – before everything clicked that he was going to become a grandfather.
Molly Howard, 22, from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, describes herself as a “planner,” so when she and husband Wyatt started trying for a baby, Molly decided to purchase a second-hand crib in preparation.
Having discovered she was pregnant quicker than expected, 2Molly couldn’t wait to tell her father, Bruce Foster, 53, a self-confessed girl dad.
Molly and Bruce share an incredibly close father-daughter bond, so she decided the crib would be the perfect way to break the big news.

Wyatt quickly put it together, and the couple then together added the finishing touches on what will become their baby’s nursery.
On May 31, just a few days after the couple had found out their good news, Molly walked her father into the nursery, where Bruce admired the crib and Wyatt’s handy work, not realizing what it all meant.
Then, having also seen a positive pregnancy test inside the crib, everything suddenly clicked, his jaw dropping in shock as he gave his daughter an emotional hug.
Molly and Wyatt are expecting a baby boy due in February 2027.
Molly said: “My dad is my best friend, so I couldn’t wait to tell him.
“I knew he would have a reaction like he did, but it’s so sweet and always makes me cry to look back on.
“He has always celebrated my sister and I’s wins like his own.
“He tells us constantly how proud he is of us, and every time it means the world.

“My parents knew we had bought a crib, but we told them we decided to build it and wanted to show them.
“They were so excited to come into our future nursery to see the crib, and inside were my positive tests.
“They did not know it would be happening so soon, so they were shocked and so excited.”
