They Put Aunt Marelene In A Virtual Reality Headset And Her Reaction Is Pure Gold

They chose the calmest scene they could find, and it still didn’t go as expected.

A family have shared the hilarious moment their aunt could not believe what was happening when she tried on a virtual reality headset for the first time.

Erica Williams, 42, from near Greenville, South Carolina, said that her aunt Marelene, 71, has always been known as the “crazy aunt,” so she couldn’t wait to see how she would react.

Erica’s daughter had received a VR headset for Christmas, and so she took it to her grandfather’s house the following day, so that others could try it out.

Knowing Marlene’s reputation, Erica thought it would be fun to let her aunt give the device a try.

She opted to simply put her aunt in the device’s lobby on December 26, thinking the calm aquarium setting would not overwhelm Marlene.

Aunt Marelene wears a virtual reality headset and points upward while a family member laughs with her hand over her mouth.
Aunt Marelene’s first virtual reality headset experience leaves the whole room in hysterics.

But things did not go as planned, as a shocked Marlene could be seen cowering at one point, pointing in awe, and jigging on the spot.

The moment had family members in hysterics, and Erica captured Marlene’s fun reaction on video.

The 42-year-old later shared that clip on social media, where it was viewed more than five million times.

Erica speaking to Happilynews.com exclusively said: “Apparently the fish swimming around calmly were too much excitement.

“She has always been dramatic, so we anticipated some theatrics, but this was hilarious.

“I wish I had thought of videoing the family’s reactions as well.

“My dad, my aunt’s brother, was beside himself.

“My sister-in-law was crying.

“My husband said he felt like he was going to pass out because he was laughing so hard he literally couldn’t catch his breath.”
