A mom received the best birthday present when her U.S. Army son returned home after 18 months to surprise her while she was blindfolded.

Gerome Aguda blindfolded wife Ann Furlow Aguda during a party at home in California ready for a big surprise he had planned without anyone else in the family knowing.

After putting on the blindfold, Gerome starts recording and steps outside looking for someone as a figure jumps out a car and starts approaching the house.

He encourages everyone to sing Happy Birthday to Ann when suddenly her son Caster Troy Furlow enters the house in uniform holding a birthday cake and walks towards his mom.

As the song finishes she removes the blindfold and realizes her son is there excitedly screaming before jumping up to hug him and letting out some happy tears.

Gerome, who captured the heartwarming moment on March 22, said: “They haven’t seen each other for almost a year and a half.

“My son is in the army, based in Colorado Springs, and he was then sent to Germany for about six months’ training.

“My wife wanted him to come home in April because that’s spring break for his siblings but I had a different plan.

“I decided to secretly asked him to be home on my wife’s birthday celebration with the cake.

“I planned the whole thing via Facebook and never told of the plan to anybody but my son. So, the whole family was surprised when Caster showed up that day.”
