A nine year old with two younger sisters broke down in tears when he laid eyes on his newborn sibling to discover if the baby brother he’d always wanted had arrived.

Tyler Rickett-Heath, from Killeen, Texas, already had two younger sisters, Kameron, aged seven, and Layla, six, when he discovered his mom, Lesha, was pregnant.

He shares a close bond with his sisters, Lesha said, but deep down he was hoping for a baby brother who he could build a boys’ bond with.

When Tyler was told his mom was expecting, he was over the moon – but nothing prepared the family for just how Tyler would react when he first met the baby.

Tyler, Kameron and Layla were led into their mom’s hospital room at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, in Temple, Texas, where the trio first laid eyes on their new sibling, a baby BOY named Bryce.

As Tyler took in the moment and the fact he was meeting the brother he always wanted, the emotions became too much, and the nine-year-old couldn’t help but sob uncontrollably.

Lesha said: “When we found out I was pregnant again, Tyler was really hoping for a baby brother.

“He was so excited about finally having another boy in the family that he could grow up with, bond with, and eventually do all the ‘boy stuff’ he had always imagined doing with a little brother.

“His reaction was honestly exactly how I imagined he would react because he has such a huge heart.

“He had been so excited about having a little brother, so seeing all of that emotion come out when he finally met Bryce felt very true to who he is.

“After the video, we really just stayed in the moment and took photos together.

“Everyone was excited to finally meet Bryce, so we spent that time soaking everything in as a family and capturing those first memories together.”
