This is the stunning moment a man proposes to his girlfriend of 20 years while surrounded by sharks.
Adventurous Alan Paul and fiancée Mandy Thompson, from Houston, Texas, are huge shark fans and first went shark diving together in 2006.
Wrestling coach Alan popped the question while the pair were at their favorite vacation spot in the Bahamas, surrounded by the magnificent creatures.
As the sharks calmly circle around them, Alan shows Mandy a toy treasure chest with the words ‘WILL YOU’ on top, before he opens the chest revealing the words ‘MARRY ME?’ and an engagement ring.
An ecstatic Mandy nods yes before the pair remove their scuba diving mouthpieces and kiss.
Alan said: “I was for sure nervous about the proposal but I’m never nervous about the sharks – they are awesome.
“Reef sharks are very confident, majestic creatures – just like my fiancée.
“Mandy was very shocked and surprised under the water. Once we were back in the boat she was very excited and happy.”
After the proposal in July 2017, the pair – who have been on 10 shark dives – will now tie the knot in front of friends and family in July 2018.
Speaking of their reaction to the proposal, Alan added: “They all think it was a perfect proposal from me – sharks are and always have been my very favorite animals.
“They also think it was very creative and well thought out.”
