Exclusive to Happily

Easton Gunsell, 13, had not seen his brother Braden Locker, 22, for a year before the big surprise.

The brothers are extremely close, and so when Braden got the news that he could travel home for the holidays, he started liaising with his mom and aunt to figure out a way to surprise his younger sibling.

It was decided that Braden – from Flushing, Michigan – would first surprise his cousin at his aunt’s house before waiting for Easton to arrive.

The family then set up a faux photoshoot, which Braden quietly snuck into the background.

After the snap was taken, Easton was shown the photo.

As the teenager scanned the image, his jaw then dropped in shock as he recognized the person standing behind him.

With tears in his eyes, Easton turned around and then headed over to his brother for a long-awaited hug.

Heather, who took the snap on Christmas Eve, said: “As soon as Easton walked into the house, we said that we wanted to get a picture of all the kids in front of the Christmas tree before everyone else arrived.
