A group of glammed-up girlfriends, dressed in their finest attire, shared the hilarious moment they thought they were headed on a sunset cruise but had accidentally booked a nature-related voyage instead.
Alexandria Davis, 29, from New York City, was on vacation with her friends Allison, Caroline, Shelby, Kristen and Meghan in the Algarve in Portugal when the group decided they wanted to take some cute photos at sunset.
They originally booked a private sunset cruise on a sailboat, but having then realized they’d booked it for the wrong Friday, the group started looking for similar cruises online.
Having picked out an alternative, the friends headed to the town of Faro, where they had dinner before walking to their boat, which was advertised as having no food and drink provided, Alexandria said.
Once they walked to the small lakehouse dock and greeted the pontoon boat that was waiting for them, the group soon discovered what they had really signed up for.
Despite wearing nice outfits and being prepared for some “cute photos” on a sunset boat ride, the friends were handed lifejackets and readied for a nature cruise.
Over the following hours, Alexandria noted the likes of a poster to help with bird spotting while their guide informed them about the local sea horse population and dolphins of the surrounding areas.
As the moments of realization hit Alexandria’s friends, the 29-year-old captured wholesome bursts of giggles, smiling, and full-on laughter at the situation the friends had gotten themselves into.
Throughout the journey, the group was completely respectful of the cruise, though, Alexandria said, and they interacted with the guide and even took a turn each in the captain’s chair, driving the boat.

They were also able to capture some nice sunset photos and spent parts of the journey catching up.
The cruise took place on August 18, but it wasn’t until Alexandria was home that she decided to stitch the amusing videos of her friends together for a TikTok post.
Having shared the video, viewers online commented about the hilarity of the moment, with Alexandria saying that it was the only part of the trip that made her TikTok, as the group was too busy having fun.
She said: “When we first got on the boat, I think we all shared a look like oops, but we are all normal and go-with-the-flow people.
“We shared giggles and looks during the tour because some other people on the tour were solo travelers and wanted to talk to the guide a lot.
“We had a good time on the boat, and it ended up being a sunset cruise – just not what we had envisioned.
“Our friends’ and family’s reactions are really funny because the whole trip was equally as ridiculous, and everyone watched it play out on our Instagram stories.
“This is the only part of the trip that made it on TikTok because we were so busy having fun.
“My only advice to people is to book the girls’ trip.”
