A pair of friends who thought they were posing for a photo in a local cafe failed to notice their friend’s positive pregnancy test was sitting on the table right in front of them.
As soon as Hayley Virta, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, found out she was pregnant for the first time, she couldn’t wait to tell her two friends, Chloe and Ellen.
Hayley, 32, was roommates with Chloe in college and then met Ellen through Chloe, and the trio have been extremely close ever since, going on vacations together and a supportive shoulder when needed.
Hayley said she knew she wanted to capture her announcement on camera, as surprising her friends is one of her favorite things to do.
And so, when the group were together at a local cafe on March 23, Hayley decided to just go ahead with the surprise.
She encouraged her friends to pose for what they thought was a cute photo with their coffees, before sliding a positive pregnancy test on the table in front of the pair.
With a video rolling, Hayley then waited for Ellen and Chloe to look down – which took a little longer than a “nervous” Hayley had expected.
Then, when the realization hit, both friends let out a scream of shock, before covering their mouths and looking at the positive test in front of them.

Hayley – who is expecting a baby boy on November 2 – later shared her video online, where it received millions of views.
She said: “When we decided to meet up one morning for coffee, I decided I’d find a way to pretend to take their picture but instead record and tell them my news then.
“I was so anxious, in part because I couldn’t tell them right away and had to wait in line, order our coffees, and wait for our food, all before getting to share with them.
“My husband was getting a lot of ‘I’m so nervous!’ texts.

“I told them they both looked cute, and that I wanted to take their picture.
“Once I started recording, I slid a pregnancy test in front of them, and the video captures the moment they look down and see it.
“These are some of my best friends, and I’m not at all surprised by their reactions.
“They have loved, supported, and encouraged me through so many seasons of life, and I knew this next adventure would be another one they’d celebrate.
“I felt – and continue to feel – really, really lucky to have both of them in my life.”
