A six-month-old baby was given an emotional guard of honor by tearful nurses after she was released from isolation having beaten the coronavirus.

In the uplifting footage, Erin Bates can be seen being pushed down a corridor in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, England, while nurses lined the walls and applauded.

Erin had been described as a “miracle baby” by staff, as she has spent the previous 14 days on a ventilator, having become one of the youngest people in Britain to catch the infection.

The guard of honor took place on April 24, and many viewers on social media said it brought tears to their eyes.

Erin’s first six months have been rather traumatic for her family, as she has already had to undergo heart surgery and suffered from sinus and respiratory conditions.
