A bride-to-be who loved Winnie the Pooh growing up couldn’t believe her eyes when she thrifted her wedding shoes and found a handwritten Pooh quote inked on the soles.
Sierra Meyer, 26, from Denver, Colorado, loved Winnie the Pooh growing up, fondly looking back on memories of having the stuffed toys around her room and meeting adults dressed in character.
Having graduated with a master’s degree in the summer of 2024, Sierra, who was planning her wedding, was still living on somewhat of a student budget.

She wanted to save money for the big day where she could, so she turned to thrifting, believing that the likes of bridal shoes that usually cost hundreds of dollars could be found cheaper secondhand.
Having headed to a thrift store to find a dress for her upcoming engagement shoot, Sierra then searched in the bridal accessories section, hoping to find a pair of shoes for her big day.
At My Best Friend’s Closet, a consignment store in Aurora, Colorado, on August 10, Sierra pulled out her dream pair of white shoes, which just so happened to fit.
She couldn’t believe it, given that she usually finds it tough to find size 7.5 shoes in thrift stores.
When inspecting the soles, Sierra spotted a handwritten quote attributed to Winnie the Pooh: “Any day spent with you is my favorite day. So today is my new favorite day.”
Sierra had been documenting her shoe find for social media, and having read the quote she said she felt nostalgic, as it reminded her of being a kid and dreaming of her wedding day.
She purchased the shoes for $19.99, before sharing the video, which soon went viral.
Sierra and her fiancé, James Toland, are set to get married in Chandler, Arizona, in November.
She said: ” I loved Winnie the Pooh as a kid and definitely had a few stuffed animals of his in my room when I was younger.

“It felt nostalgic to me and reminded me of being a kid and dreaming about my wedding one day.
“It felt perfect! My friends thought it was adorable and found out when I posted it online.
“I only shared it with my family once the video started to blow up.
“I think they were surprised because I don’t have a large following and they probably didn’t even know I posted on there.

“I like the sentiment that people shared something old, something borrowed, something blue and that it could fit into one of those.
“However, some people have said that it would be bad luck to wear the shoes, and they wouldn’t have bought them.
“They told me that I would be jinxing the marriage if I did.
“Well, I don’t share that sentiment and I’m not worried!”
