A wife’s secret gift to her husband of his two dream cats turned into an un-fur-seen cat-astrophe when one gave birth to kittens the night before the surprise leaving them with SEVEN felines.
Adrian Beattie, 43, has always wanted to own a black cat called Salem, but due to his wife Kelly’s allergies, the couple had always held off on adopting one.
Kelly, however, said her husband has always been so supportive of her she wanted to make his dream come true, so she decided the family could welcome a barn cat she could manage around her allergies.

With Adrian away on business, Kelly thought it was the perfect time to look for a cat for her husband, so she turned to an online marketplace.
There, she found a black cat that someone was looking to give away for free, but under one condition: the new owner had to take its sister, too.
Kelly, from Hamilton, Ontario, collected the two cats on March 18 and took them to the barn to acclimatize while Adrian was still away.
But the following morning, Kelly looked out of her window and saw her son running from the barn, at full speed, back to the house.
He shouted, “Mom, there’s kittens!”, and Kelly, thinking it was a prank, went to investigate, only to find five newborn kittens less than 24 hours after picking up the cats.
Kelly and her son, Landon, then started brainstorming ideas for how to break the news to Adrian.
On Friday, March 20, when Adrian returned home, the pair held a small family birthday celebration for him, which saw Adrian initially blow out his candles and open his presents.
Landon then walked in and dumped one black cat, named Salem, on his father’s lap, and Kelly explained to her husband, “I adopted her, but there was a catch.”
Adrian couldn’t stop smiling at the news he got his dream cat, and that smile only widened when Salem’s sister, Boo, was given to him, too.
But then came the real shock: Landon dropped the basket of kittens next to Adrian, and Kelly was required to explain the crazy situation.

Four of the kittens will be rehoused with family and friends, Kelly said, while she and Adrian will keep one “Birthday Kitten,” given that the five cats were born on Adrian’s actual birthday, March 19.
Kelly said: “I live for grand gestures and surprises, so pulling this off for him was just as exciting for me as it was for him.
“He was so happy; I was so glad I was able to do this for him.
“I said to him, ‘This is as selfless as it gets!’
“The shock on his face when he saw the kittens though was the best – so funny, so Adrian, and it made all of this worth it.
“It took about a minute before the shock wore off and he was just as excited about the kittens, a cat dad and grandpa all in an instant.”
