A woman who thought her sister was joking when she said her newborn had been named after her bursts into tears when she realizes she is telling the truth.
Despite a seven-year age gap, Katie Staten, 23, who goes by Kate, and Brook Fondriest, 30, from Dayton, Ohio, have always been extremely close, often sharing jokes and making each other laugh.
Kate has always looked up to her older sister, and she felt honored when she was asked to be present for the delivery of Brook’s most recent child.

Kate added that the delivery was set to be exciting, as Brook and her husband, Danny, did not know the baby’s gender so that it would be a complete surprise.
The couple had a name in mind for the child, and after their little girl was born in Miami Valley Hospital, they decided to break the news to Kate.
As she watched her brother-in-law hold his newborn daughter for some skin-to-skin, Brook secretly started her camera rolling, having a faux discussion with Danny about the final name.
With Kate watching on, Brook said, “What about, like, Millie Kate?” to which a relaxed Danny replied, “Sounds good.”
A shocked Kate thought this could only be a joke and simply replied, “Yeah, right!”
But then, after a brief pause, she asked her sister, “Are you being serious?” and was given the heartwarming news her niece would be taking her name.
Kate then softly repeated “Millie Kate” before bursting into tears of pride as Danny informed her that his daughter looked like a Millie Kate.
Kate said: “My sister told me to go sit by Danny so that she could take a picture of us with Millie.

“Little did I know she was actually recording and told me that her name would be Millie Kate.
“With the fun-loving relationship Brook and I have and how we are always joking around together, I asked if she was being serious.

“When she said yes, I was immediately filled with so much joy and love.
“I felt so connected to Millie when I heard the name and fell in love with her even more.
“I couldn’t believe something so perfect would share a name with me.
