A proud mom bursts into tears as she opens the door to her pantry to discover her soldier son who she hadn’t seen in four months while he completed basic training.
Fermin Sosa, 21, a combat engineer with the U.S. Army, had been based in Missouri for four months while he completed his training, before eventually returning home to Texas on December 22, 2022.
To plan the surprise, Fermin contacted his two sisters, Jazmine and Nancy, who then helped him sneak inside his mother’s home.
As soon as mom Nancy Sosa, 51, saw Fermin looking back at her, she couldn’t contain her emotions.
A family member captured the sweet moment on video, which Fermin later shared online.
Since the surprise, Fermin has been sent on deployment to South Korea, where he is currently based.
He said: “It’s such an amazing feeling, knowing you’re back home and you get to hug your loved ones once again.
“It just goes to show that you should never take your family and friends for granted – always show them love and a positive attitude.
“Now that I am based in South Korea, I won’t be able to see my family again for a while, but I will sure be ready to greet them with open arms.”
