A three-year-old boy is being hailed as a hero after his quick thinking helped save his great-grandmother following a serious fall.
Bridger Peabody was in the care of his great-grandmother, Sharon Lewis, in February while his family was at the hospital with his sister.
But as they returned home, the routine visit took a frightening turn when Sharon fell, hitting her head on a cement step.

Unable to reach her phone, Sharon turned to the only person nearby—her young great-grandson.
“If Bridger wasn’t there, I don’t know what I would have done,” Sharon told KUSA.
Despite being scared of the dark, Bridger bravely followed her instructions to retrieve her phone, which was inside a parked car in the backyard.
Surveillance footage captured the determined toddler encouraging himself as he made his way through the darkness, repeatedly whispering, “Don’t be afraid.”

Moments later, his triumphant voice rang out: “I got it, GG!” With the phone in hand, Sharon was able to call for emergency assistance.

She suffered a serious concussion and required 22 staples, but thanks to Bridger’s courage, she is now on the road to recovery.
Sharon was quick to praise her great-grandson’s bravery. “You’re GG’s hero, aren’t ya?” she told him affectionately.
Bridger, still insisting he’s “not a big kid yet,” hopes to continue helping his great-grandmother as he grows. But one thing is certain—he’s already a hero in her eyes.
