A stunned youngster almost fell over in shock as he removed a blindfold to discover his Air Force dad had returned from the Middle East and was standing behind him.
Trey Smith, aged nine, was blindfolded and asked to spin around a number of times, not knowing what surprise his teachers at Antioch Christian Academy in Oklahoma City had in store.
Trey’s father, Tim Smith, had been serving with the USAF in the Middle East, but had returned from duty early – unbeknownst to Trey, who was completely oblivious to the surprise.
After spinning around and removing the blindfold, Trey stumbled back as he double-took who was standing in front of him, immediately jumping into his father’s arms for a huge hug.
The surprise was organized with the help if Tim’s wife, Brandi, and the school’s headmaster, David Herren, who arranged for Tim to greet his son at afternoon dismissal on August 20.
