A woman who loves escape rooms was left in shock when completing one about missing gems revealed a ring – before realizing it was an engagement ring when boyfriend gets down on one knee.
Given how much Jazmine Reliford, 31, from Atlanta, Georgia, loves escape room puzzles, her boyfriend, Michael Doctor, 30, knew he wanted to include one on the day he proposed.
Michael himself has become a fan of the puzzles, too, so he contacted a local escape room, in Sandy Springs, and asked the gamemaster if there were any rooms that would be “proposal-worthy.”
The pair decided on “One Thousand & One Nights”, an Aladdin-themed room, where the final clue is to find the last gem before time runs out.

Michael decided this would be perfect, as the last gem could be tied to the diamond he was about to present to Jazmine.
Inside the room, Jazmine worked through a series of challenges before, at the last stop, discovering the ring.
Michael picked up the object, and with Jazmine’s best friend, Kei, capturing the moment on video, he got down on one knee for the big moment.
After her boyfriend’s speech, Jazmine jumped for joy with happiness, placing the ring on her finger before heading out of the room to celebrate with her friends.
The couple are planning to get married late 2027, so they can focus on their new home and their son’s first birthday.
Jazmine said: “I was speechless – I’m normally very good at catching onto things that are out of the ordinary, but I was completely surprised.
“As I mentioned in the video, I won the game and in life.”

Michael added: “When Jazmine saw the ring, she thought it was a part of the game, and she grabbed the gem and jetted off to finish the puzzle.
“However, she was met by me getting down on one knee, and her best friends recording from the corner.”
