A stunned husband couldn’t believe his eyes during a couple’s painting session, when he turned around his wife’s portrait of him and discovered the words, “I’m pregnant.”
Alvin Chikaeze, 29, from Dallas, Texas, and wife Kassi, 29, had been trying for a baby for a number of months – so after receiving a positive result, she knew she had to act fast to break the news.
Kassi has always loved DIY and crafts projects, so when she heard Alvin was having a tough day at work, she suggested a therapeutic evening painting each other’s portraits and relaxing.
On February 21, with her camera rolling, Kassi recorded the couple as they got to work, before Alvin was first to show Kassi his portrait of her.

Then, as he was ready to set eyes on his wife’s work, Alvin said he knew the portrait would be better than the one he produced – but he had no idea what was about to happen.
As he turned the canvas around, Alvin smiled with happiness but did not read the message as he pointed at the portrait.
Then, Alvin took a look at the message Kassi had painted on the bottom – “I’m pregnant” – and could do nothing more than freeze and cover his mouth in shock.

Kassi could be heard laughing, stunned that her husband hadn’t noticed the message or positive pregnancy test in front of him.
The pair later captured a number of similar reaction videos with their friends and family, with Alvin showing off the portrait as part of their pregnancy announcement.
Kassi said: “I was nervous but giddy with excitement as the moment approached.
“I never doubted how thrilled he’d be – he’s such an incredible dad to our son already.

“But seeing that joy on his face made everything feel even more real.
“It was such a powerful reminder that I have someone to share this joy with and walk through life with.
“It felt like the start of a whole new chapter for our little family.
“At first, he was totally focused on the painting – complimenting my artistic skills and all.

“It took him a few seconds to actually read the message hidden in the artwork.
“But once he did, you could see it click – that he was about to become a father again.
“It turned into this beautiful, emotional moment.”
