A girlfriend bawled tears of happiness when a streetcar full of all her favorite people pulled up, and she was encouraged to walk inside for her dream proposal.
Ben Battleson, 23, who is based in Dallas, Texas, always knew that his girlfriend Montserrat “Montse” Luna, 23, wanted to celebrate with friends and family if she ever got engaged, and so he started to think of creative ways to make that happen.
The couple had taken the Dallas Trolley, a vintage streetcar that runs all year, many times, and both Ben and Montse loved its vintage charm.

Ben’s brother suggested that the streetcar would be the perfect proposal addition – a way to have everyone in one place and transport friends and family to the locations – and so the pair worked on months of logistical planning.
On March 20, at the Cole & West Village Trolley stop, Montse was enjoying a date night with Ben, his brother, and his brother’s wife, when the couple suggested taking some cute photos of Ben and Montse with the oncoming trolley.
Montse thought nothing of it, posing for the photos before turning around and seeing her two best friends sitting and smiling – and behind them, also on the trolley, Ben’s two best friends.
It was then that everything clicked, and Montse said she knew what was to come, walking onto the trolley and “losing it” when she saw all the smiling faces that she knew.
As Ben got down on one knee to ask the big questions, Montse bawled tears of happiness as Ben’s brother, Andrew, captured the moment on video.
Montse later shared that clip on social media, where it soon went viral and garnered millions of views.
After Ben had asked the big question, the couple and their friends and family partied on the trolley as it took them around the city.
Montse said: “I was in so much shock, I just could not believe Ben had brought all of these people together.
“As soon as I got on the Trolley, I saw my brother, Ben’s sister, and my closest friends from college, and I just lost it.
“I was overwhelmed with so much emotion I couldn’t even speak.
“All I could do was nod my head as aggressively as possible for Ben when he said, “will you marry me?”
“Our families were so happy and emotional to see the proposal.
“We both have big families, so it’s been nice to send the video for them to experience the sheer amount of happiness we felt.

“The response on social media has also been overwhelmingly beautiful.
“Since Day 1 of dating Ben, he has treated me like an absolute gem, and he truly would go above and beyond for me to make my dreams come true.
“Seeing other people recognize that has truly just been so beautiful.”
