A hero mom was given a huge shock by her hero son after he returned from deployment in the Middle East to surprise the COVID-fighting nurse.

Regina Elliot had spent recent months on the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19, at Staten Island University Hospital, New York.

Meanwhile, her son, US Army Corporal Daniel Elliot, had spent the past 10 months on deployment in Iraq and Kuwait.

On August 19, with Daniel now back in the US, the Army corporal stood outside the hospital, waiting for his mom to round the corner.

As soon as Regina caught sight of her son, however, her mother’s instinct kicked in and her arms instantly went out so that the pair could lock in a loving embrace.

Regina is a nurse in the hospital’s outpatient surgical center, but during the COVID-19 surge, she was redeployed to the coronavirus units to care for critically ill patients.
