A husband burst into tears of joy when he turned the canvas during a couple’s portrait session and discovered his wife was pregnant.
When Chelsea Croft, 34, from Nashville, Tennessee, discovered that she was pregnant, she began thinking of creative ways to break the news to husband Chris, 32.
Initially, Chelsea grabbed a pair of baby boy and baby girl socks while at a local store, but then she saw the craft aisle, with its canvases, easels, paints and brushes.
Over the past year, Chelsea had been suggesting they partake in the online trend of couples painting each other, and so she through this would be the perfect foil to break her big news.
With an ice storm hitting outside, on January 25, Chelsea decided it was the perfect time to hunker down and challenge Chris to paint her.
Once the couple finished their masterpieces, Chelsea set her phone to record and asked Chris to record her turning around his painting, so as not to raise suspicion.
Then, with Chelsea holding her phone, Chris turned around his wife’s canvas, which featured the words: “Baby Croft #2 Due 2026.”

As soon as Chris read the words, he immediately began to sob with happiness – something Chelsea admitted she didn’t expect, which caused her to cry, too.
Chelsea, who is expecting a baby girl on October 3, said: “I was so nervous and excited for him to see my canvas when the time came.
“I knew he was going to be happy and excited, but I honestly wasn’t expecting such a huge reaction in his eyes and body language – he literally just melted and turned into a big teddy bear.

“My husband is a big boy, so seeing him just melt like that and starting to cry made me cry just as hard.
“Chris is normally not an overly emotional human and is 99.9 percent of the time sarcastic and funny, that’s how we both are, so seeing that side of him and being able to get it on video is priceless.
“The response from friends and family was incredible; they loved his reaction, but the overwhelming response on TikTok we’ve received has been amazing.”
