A bride who joked that she and her military husband would have to start their wedding ceremony over if he did not cry was stunned to find him a blubbering mess at the end of the aisle.
Kassandra Gagnon said she never actually expected to find her husband James in tears after making the joke over the months prior.
But as she headed towards the altar on their big day, Kassandra, 25, found James, an active-duty senior airman (E4) firefighter with the United States Air Force, crying his eyes out.
The wholesome moment was captured on video by Kassandra’s aunty, with James standing proud in full military attire at the ceremony in Beaverdam, VA.
The couple’s initial wedding date was canceled during the pandemic because Kassandra’s mom had been diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer.
They eventually married in early October 2021 and had the ceremony on October 30.

Speaking of her husband’s happy tears, Kassandra said: “I was so shocked to see his reaction.
“I always joked with him, saying if he didn’t cry we would have to start over – but he blew me away and all of the waiting was suddenly worth it.
“That was the best moment of my life.
“It made me think of how far we have come and question how I could possibly love him more?
“It was a dream come true.
“I also hope our video encourages couples who have been struggling to have a wedding in the craziness of COVID – to let them know it is still possible to have your dream wedding and it is so worth the wait.”
