A mom planned a one-of-a-kind spirit-booster for her cousin battling cancer in hospital during a visit – by pulling her baby twins out of a gym bag.
Monique Walker, 37, from Baltimore, Maryland, shares a deep bond with cousin Brittany Hodge, 36, over Monique’s 10-month-old twin girls, Teagan and Tatum.
While Monique was pregnant, Brittany unfortunately lost her own twins, and so she was emotionally invested in Teagan and Tatum after they were born.

With Brittany undergoing assessments during her Stage 3 cancer diagnosis, Monique confirmed with her doctor that she could bring the twins along on a visit on April 22.
After gaining approval, Monique thought it would be funny if she could find a way to surprise her cousin, so she stopped outside the door to her hospital room and placed Teagan and Tatum sitting up inside a large gym bag, which she left open.
A few seconds later, after greeting Brittany, who wasn’t expecting Teagan and Tatum to be there, Monique lifted her children out of the bag, one by one.

Brittany immediately lit up, and Monique later shared the video on social media, where the post received more than 14 million views and thousands of comments about how precious the moment was.
Since the video, Brittany has also started treatment for her cancer diagnosis.
Monique said: “Brittany had been really depressed and was initially not sure if she wanted treatment.
“On the day the babies came to see her in the hospital, the doctor approved the visit.
“But I was trying to surprise her because I told her I didn’t bring the girls, so I sat them in the bag outside the door.
“Bringing the girls made her day, and that’s all I wanted to do, to finally put a smile on her face.
“I really hope this moment touched others like it touched her.”
