Mother Chimpanzee Spots A New Mom’s Baby At The Zoo And Walks Over With Her Own

A chimpanzee feeding her offspring shared a heartwarming moment with a new mom when she spotted her baby and walked over to show off each other’s newborns.

Amy Angell, from Essex, England, became a member of Colchester Zoo after fellow new moms said it would be a relaxing place to get some fresh air and push her stroller around with her baby son.

Having visited the zoo a number of times in her first week, Amy heard a new chimpanzee would soon be moving in, so she headed to the chimpanzee enclosure on May 11 to try to see her.

As Amy pushed her pram inside, she noticed a mother chimpanzee sat breastfeeding her baby in the middle of the enclosure.

Amy pushed her baby’s stroller up to the glass, where Kora came over for a closer look.

Amy hadn’t seen her do this before, so she pulled her three-month-old son’s stroller up to the window to get a closer look.

Then, suddenly, the mother chimp, Kora, noticed Amy’s stroller and was immediately interested in her son – walking over to get a closer look herself.

While trying to catch a glimpse of Amy’s baby, the chimpanzee proudly held her own, Keira, in a beautiful moment Amy was able to capture on video.

As she was on her own and “did not have enough hands,” Amy then stopped recording to give the chimpanzee a glimpse of her baby.

The moment shocked Amy, who said she’d never seen animals interact with humans like this in any zoo before – something hundreds of thousands of viewers online related to.

When Amy posted the clip on social media, it quickly went viral, garnering more than a million views in hours and a hundreds of loving comments.

Amy said: “I couldn’t believe it – I pulled up with my pram to see the chimpanzee and her baby feeding, and she got up to come over and see my baby.

“She sat trying to peer in until I turned the pram around and showed her my baby inside.
