A sausage dog raised in a high-rise apartment couldn’t hold back her delight when her owner surprised her with her first-ever backyard.
When looking for a new home, Liberty Grace wanted to give nine-month-old miniature Dachshund, Mabel, easy outdoor access without relying on an elevator.
Mabel is a very outdoorsy dog, Liberty said, spending a lot of time in the garden when she visits family.

And so, having settled on a new ground-floor home, Liberty wanted to give Mabel a big surprise on move-in day.
With a video rolling on August 24, Liberty captured her pooch excitably trotting through the home before getting zoomies in her new yard after Liberty had opened the door.
Liberty, from Manchester, UK, said the new home has been better for her and Mabel, with her sausage dog “thriving” in her new yard.
Having posted the clip of Mabel’s reaction on social media, Liberty was flooded with heartwarming comments and well wishes.
She said: “I wanted Mabel to have easy access to the outdoors without relying on an elevator.
“Whenever she stays with family who have gardens, she spends most of her time outside—she’s such an outdoorsy girl, so the move was really to give her that freedom all the time.
“Things have been so much better for both of us – Mabel has absolutely thrived since the move.
