A woman has transformed her city loft apartment into a dreamy rainbow paradise – dubbed ‘Dreamcore’ – leaving social media users obsessed over objects carefully chosen to reflect light and shower the room in color.
Alex Danko (@blushdaisyhome), 33, loves colors, whimsy and psychedelia of the ’60s and ’70s – all of which have elements in her stunning Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, dreamcore loft apartment.
Whether it be pillows, flower lamps, cakes, chandeliers, floor cushions, coasters, disco balls, suncatchers, candles or other bedazzling items, all have been tweaked or made by Alex herself.

And then there are the larger items – a swan coffee table; a large, curved sofa – which Alex has sourced, piece by piece, over two years since moving into the giant studio apartment.
The 33-year-old previously lived in Houston, Texas, where she ran her jewelry and accessories business, Blush Daisy, out of her one-bedroom apartment for around five years.
As every corner of the apartment became overrun with elements tied to work, Alex started to feel burnt out and looked into the possibility of moving back to Philly.
After around three months, Alex found a large one-bedroom or studio listing with big windows but one picture she said looked like it was taken on an early 2000s flip phone.

Having been mesmerized by the large windows, Alex – who dreamed about owning a loft apartment since watching the movie ‘Big’ as a child – committed to the 1,700ft space and headed back east.
With a blank canvas, Alex used Facebook Marketplace to source a few essential items cheaply or for free – but for the bigger pieces she has remained patient, taking her time to select them.
As a spin-off to her jewelry and accessories business, Blush Daisy, Alex started social media pages, Blush Daisy Home, to track the apartment’s progress.
Additions have included vibrant, fluffy rugs, rainbow and butterfly wall stickers, cloudscapes, a bar cart, objects that reflect light spectrums, and grand, Renaissance-style gold frames.
She said: “I grew up in the 90s and early 2000s, and we were blessed with peak girlhood aesthetics — Lisa Frank, inflatable furniture, bead curtains, Spice World, and butterfly clips.
“I like anything other-worldly and dreamlike.
“When I found out the natural sunlight was amazing, I really prioritized reflective and holographic elements that would reflect light and color all over the room.
“I have something to look forward to every day when the sun comes out and makes everything colorful and sparkly.

“I love personalizing anything possible –I pretend I’m the creative director of this apartment, and the more projects I do for it the more inspiration it gives me.
“I’ve been a lifelong craft addict and artist and having the apartment exist as this space I can just pour myself into has been so rewarding.
“I do restocks for my jewelry business every few weeks and there’s a small window in between restocks where I just unleash this pent-up energy on the apartment and get like 10 projects done in one weekend, but then I have to work again, and I won’t do any projects for weeks.
“But I love scheming about what to do next.”
