Residents at a senior living facility in Texas had a special guest turn up for their virtual bingo game this week, as none other than actor Matthew McConaughey decided to join in.
The Oscar-winnning actor is a native of Texas, and having previously been invited to bingo by the residents of The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living facility last September, McConaughey thought that now was the perfect time.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, McConaughey, his wife Camila, mom Kay, and their children could not head to the facility, so they did the next best thing by calling the game online.
The Dallas Buyers Club star called numbers and, when “bingo” was called, the winner got to ask McConaughey a question.
On Monday, April 5, the facility shared a video on Facebook that showed cheering bingo winners on an online video call with McConaughey.
Last week the Texas native spoke as part of a video to tell those at the University of Texas to stay at home and stay safe.
In a statement, The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living said: “The generosity and kindness Matthew McConaughey and his family showed our residents was beautiful, but more importantly we were gifted with a humble message from his heart. And for that, we will be forever grateful.”
