A doggy daycare is hosting the most adorable howl-oween costume contest – which sees the pups it cares for arriving on their school bus dressed ready for spooky season.
Ruff And Puff, a popular dog-walking and pet service for Calgary in Alberta, Canada, was founded in 2020 by Denzel Morrison, a dog trainer from the city whose parents founded a dog rescue.
One day, Denzel was speaking to a dog walker who had a yellow van, with the pair joking the van looked like a school bus, which made Denzel think: what if he bought an actual school bus for his business?
Having sourced a bus, Denzel immediately saw cute posts about the dogs’ daily transport go viral, given the people liked seeing shots of different dog excitedly entering and all sitting on the bus together.
The company has since expanded to have four buses running, with plans for another two.
One year, Ruff And Puff asked owners if they’d dress their dogs up for Halloween – and the families quickly embraced the idea.

There have been an incredible display of creative costumes, from dogs dressed as Dolly Parton, (many) bananas, and a Vegas showgirl, to the house from UP, a dinosaur and even Scooby Doo.
Ruff And Puff now hosts an annual competition for the best costume, with prizes including free rides and merchandise.

The posts about the annual Spooky Season contest always going viral, as do other holiday-themed events for their dogs including Christmas, St Patricks Day, and Harry Potter back to school.
Denzel said: “The main thing is making people happy.
“It’s super cool when the parents get like really involved.”
