This is the heart-warming moment a determined 95-year-old military veteran achieves his goal of launching himself off a diving board into a swimming pool.

Fun-loving Daniel Biss, a WWII and Korean War veteran, was at a picnic celebrating Independence Day on July 4 when one of the children got nervous about jumping off the diving board.

As the adults in attendance tried to convince the boy it was fun, Daniel soon stepped up to show him there was nothing to worry about.

After being helped onto the board by family and friends, he shuffles forward dramatically teetering on the edge before finally leaping forward into the pool to a chorus of loud cheers.

Daughter Christine Ross captured the inspiring moment on camera in Ohio, USA, on July 4.

She said: “We were at a 4th of July family picnic and there were other neighborhood kids there.

“One of the young neighbor boys was nervous about jumping off the diving board so while trying to convince him to jump we told him that even Grandpa would jump.

“He is very spry for his age – he’s 95 soon to be 96-years-old and is both a WWII and Korean War veteran in the U.S. Air Force. He is full of amazing stories and has song for every situation.

“My mom and dad have been married for 72 years. My mom is also a vet she served in the Coast Guard as an administrative aid.”
