14-Year-Old Scores Perfect 1600 on SAT and Plans to Be a Neurosurgeon

A 14-year-old in Georgia has scored a perfect 1600 on the SAT – and he is now writing practice questions to help other students get through the same test.

Ashrit Talluri sat the real thing in June, before starting ninth grade at Innovation Academy in Fulton County, after already hitting 1600 on three practice tests.

He signed up in January and spent the next five months preparing with a tutor, YouTube videos and more than two dozen practice tests.

None of that preparation made the official score any less of a shock when it arrived.

“When I saw that 1600, you know, I had to wipe my eyes a couple of times,” Ashrit told FOX 5 Atlanta.

The test was the latest entry on an already crowded record. He completed 14½ high school credits while still in middle school, spent summers on college-level programs at Harvard and Rice universities, and is now taking two college courses through dual enrollment.

Outside the classroom he plays chess, loves aviation and enters hackathons around metro Atlanta.

He has also started writing SAT practice questions for other students, which he sees as passing on the help he was given.

“I really want to help the community just like how someone helped me,” he said.

His long-term plan is to become a neurosurgeon.
